oNCE, I could not get sleep for almost five days because of a severe case of untreated burcitis. Why I did not reeive proper treatment is a whole nother story, but, being sleep deprived for almost five days lead me to seriously think about suicide. I had no plan or anything, but it certainly gave me an insight into what simple sleep deprivation can do. The ongoing persistent pain of the burcitis did not help either.

Years later with another case of burcitis, I was able to follow the simple relaxation technique described in Robert Bension's book, "The Naural Relaxation Response."

It is a combo of yoga breathing and meditation using a mantra. I was so surprised because suddenly I was waking up after a very restful sleep and had no recall of actually falling asleep.

I think more often than not, many folks are really afraid to go to sleep for all kinds of "good" reasons, none of which are really good!!

So thanks for the helpful info and info about the different "tools" or machinery. The lights are very interesting to me. They have come way down in price.
